Tummy tuck scars usually need approximately 8–12 months to mature before camouflage can be considered, although some scars may require additional healing time.
The scar should be fully healed and stable, with no remaining pink, red, or purple color, tenderness, irritation, or noticeable changes in texture. During the initial evaluation, I will carefully assess the scar’s color, texture, density, and maturity to determine whether it is ready for camouflage or whether it would benefit from more healing time or preliminary skin preparation.
